The SEP is open now and will remain open through Aug. 15, 2021, to all exchange-eligible consumers, whether submitting a new application or updating an existing application. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) extended access to the SEP to give consumers additional time to take advantage of new savings through the American Rescue Plan.

In accordance with the Executive Order issued by President Biden, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), announced the SEP in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning Feb. 15, 2021 through May 15, 2021, this SEP will be open to all exchange-eligible consumers who are submitting a new application or updating an existing application.
